Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF TEXTILES
(SMT. SMRITI ZUBIN IRANI)

(a) & (b): There is no separate Minimum Support Price (MSP) for organic cotton. Therefore, Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) has not procured organic cotton under MSP.

(c) to (e): There is no separate Minimum Support Price (MSP) for organic cotton. However, Organic produce commands a higher price in the market in comparison to non-organic produce. Government is promoting organic farming in a cluster approach to bring down its costs which is expected to increase return to the farmers, through Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY) using traditional resources and organic products.
