(a) whether the microscopic minority of Anglo-Indians are facing difficulties in matters of education, employment and housing and struggling to maintain their identity;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the Union Government proposes to appoint a Special Officer to study the problems faced by this community; and

(d) if so, the details thereof and the time by which the study report is likely to be presented?

(a)&(b) No separate study has been undertaken by this Ministry in the matters relating to education, employment and housing of the Anglo-Indian community since they are not notified as minorities under Section 2(c) of the National Commission for Minorities Act, 1992.

(d) Does not arise in view of (c).
