Question : Conservation of Monuments at Fatehpur Sikri

(a) the areas demarcated and selected by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) for the conservation and preservation of all the monuments located at Fatehpur-Sikri (UP);

(b) the status of the preservation work being implemented at the monuments; and

(c) the efforts made by the ASI to clear the beehives from Buland Darwaza and other structures of historical importance in Fatehpur-Sikri?

(a) There are 9 Nos. of protected monuments of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) at Fatehpur Sikri. The conservation and preservation work of these monuments is executed by the ASI within the protected area of each monument which is well demarcated.

(b) Conservation work of protected monuments is a continuous process. The conservation & preservation work of these monuments is attended regularly depending upon the availability of the resources and requirements of different sites and they are in a good state of conservation.

(c) The beehives from Buland Darwaza and other monuments at Fatehpur Sikri are cleared regularly by application of appropriate methods, keeping the monuments in presentable condition.
