(a) the total number of youths recruited in the Armed Forces during the last three years and the current year, State / UT-wise including Punjab;
(b) whether there is shortage of officers and soldiers in all three wings of defence forces and if so, force-wise details thereof;
(c) the steps taken by the Government to fill up the vacant posts and meet the shortage of soldiers and officers in defence forces;
(d) whether the Government proposes to make a special recruitment drive in the country including border / hilly areas and open more centres to recruit youths in defence forces; and
(e) if so, the details thereof, State / UT-wise?
