Question : COMMISSION FOR FPS LICENSEES



(a) whether the Government has sanctioned higher rate of commission for the Fair Price Shop (FPS) licensees in various States; and

(b) if so, the details thereof, State-wise?

(a) & (b): Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS) is operated under the joint responsibility of Central Government and States/Union Territories Governments (UT). State/UT Governments have been given the flexi- bility in the matter of fixing the margin for Fair Price Shop (FPS) dealers except in the case of Antyo- daya Anna Yojana where the end retail price is to be retained at Rs. 2 per kg for wheat and Rs. 3 per kg for rice.

Based on reports received from States/UTs, a statement showing the State/UT-wise margins paid to FPS dealers is at Annexure.
