(a) the reasons for delay in starting the train No. 6515/6516 Yashvanthapura-Mangalore Express
(Daily) via Arasikere even though it was included in the railway budget for the year 2004-05; and
(b) by when this train service is likely to be commenced?

(a): Introduction of 6515/6516 Yesvantpur-Mangalore Express via Arsikere is getting delayed
primarily to observe the behaviour of ghat section during the forth coming monsoon season and
also for completion of capacity enhancement works between Arsikere-Hassan and Hassan-Kankanadi
including strengthening of land slip prone and boulder fall areas.
(b): A firm decision for introduction of the train would largely depend on the behaviour of
the section during monsoon and completion of ongoing works.
