(a) whether Direct to Home (DTH) telecast service has been benefited following the successful launching of INSAT-4A;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Government is considering to increase the number of free to air channels under DTH Television (T.V.) service; and
(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b): No significant impact has been felt on Doordarshan’s DTH service as they primarily use the NSS VI Satellite.
(c) & (d): Number of TV channels on free-to-air DTH service of Doordarshan “DD Direct Plus†is envisaged to be increased from present 33 to 50 during the year 2006-07.
