(a) whether some top management and other important posts are lying vacant in the institutions like University Grants Commission that are dealing with higher education;
(b) if so, the details of such posts;
(c) since when these posts are lying vacant, post-wise;
(d) whether the charge of these posts have been given and if so, the details thereof; and
(e) the steps being taken by the Government in this regard?

(a) to (e): Filling up of vacant posts in the institutions is a continuous and ongoing process. The University Grants Commission (UGC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) are two important Regulatory Bodies dealing with higher education, under the aegis of the Ministry. The posts of Chairman and Vice-Chairman are presently filled up in both the UGC and the AICTE. The posts of Secretary, UGC and Member-Secretary, AICTE are also not vacant. Presently, 3 posts of Members are vacant in UGC.
