(a) whether the Government proposes to bring Non-Resident Indians
(NRIs) under the purview of Direct Taxes Code (DTC);
(b) if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor; and
(c) the likely impact of the DTC on NRI on the economy of the country
including Kerala?

(a) Under the current provisions of Income-tax Act, 1961, the Non-
Resident Indians are already subjected to tax in respect of their income
sourced from India. They continue to be subjected to tax under the Direct
Taxes Code Bill, 2010.
(b)and (c) do not arise in the light of (a).
