Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT
(SHRI NARENDRA SINGH TOMAR)

(a) to (c): Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) is a one-time special intervention to provide rural connectivity, by way of a single all-weather road, to the eligible unconnected habitations in the core network. The unit of programme under PMGSY is a habitation and not a revenue village. In Rajasthan, against 16,450 eligible unconnected habitations, 16,252 habitations have already been provided all weather road connectivity. Out of remaining 198 habitations, 179 habitations have either been dropped or are not feasible as of now and balance 19 eligible and feasible habitations are targeted to be connected at the earliest.

(d) to (e): Specifications and standards available in PMGSY Guidelines, Operational Manual and relevant Indian Road Congress (IRC) specifications are taken into consideration at the time of sanction and construction of roads in rural areas.
