(a) whether the Government proposes to provide cash subsidy to the oil Public Sector
Undertakings (PSUs) to compensate their losses for selling fuel at below market prices;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) the extent to which the projected losses of these oil PSUs are likely to offset by
the proposed cash subsidy?

(a)to(c): During the year 2009-10 (April-December 2009), the public sector Oil Marketing Companies
(OMCs) namely IOCL, BPCL and HPCL have incurred under-recoveries of Rs.29,353 crore on the sale of
Petrol, Diesel, PDS Kerosene and Domestic LPG. The product-wise details are as follows:
