Question : Urdu Teachers in Bihar

(a) whether the proposal regarding appointment of CTET qualified Urdu teachers recommended
by the State Governments of Bihar is under consider ation of the Government;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Government is aware that out of the total requirement of 24 thousand Urdu
teachers only 11 thousand Urdu teachers have been recruited so far;
(d) whether the case regarding applicants’ request of reducing merit cut off by 5 per cent is in the
Supreme Court and if so, the details thereof;
(e) whether there was a similar case in Tripura and at that time, the Government had appointed
Urdu teachers by resolving the case and if so, the details thereof; and
(f) whether the Government proposes to appoint Urdu teachers in Bihar on the lines of Tripura
and if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (c) : No such proposal regarding appointment of Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET)
qualified Urdu teachers has been received from the Government of Bihar. Further, as education is
in the Concurrent List of the Constitution, the recruitment and service conditions of teachers come
in the domain of respective State Governments and UT Administrations.
(d) : The State Government of Bihar has no information in this regard.
(e) : There is no sanctioned post of Urdu Teachers for Madrasa Education under the Directorate
of Elementary Education, Government of Tripura and therefore, CTET qualified Urdu Teacher
had not been recruited in the State of Tripura so far.
(f) : Question does not arise.
