Question : Audit of Autonomous Bodies

(a) whether the Government proposes to conduct audit of autonomous institutions/trusts and BCCI, ICAI, ICWAI and other such boards which have huge financial assets;

(b) if so, the details thereof along with the list of such boards/institutions which have more than Rs. 1000 crores of assets;

(c) whether the Government also proposes to amend such laws which keep these institutions away from the scrutiny and audit by the Government agencies; and

(d) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) to (d):- No, Madam. The autonomous institutions are audited as per the provisions of the respective Acts governing them. There is no proposal for amendment of the Companies Act, 2013 or the two acts governing ICAI and ICWAI respectively. Similarly, Tamil Nadu State Government, has also not specified that any amendment would be carried out in the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act under which BCCI is registered.
