Question : Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR)

Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:

(a) whether Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) has registered any decline during the last three years in the country;
(b) if so, the details of MMR during the said period, State/UT-wise;
(c) the expenditure incurred by the Government to bring down the Maternal Mortality Rate during the last three years, State/UT-wise particularly in Delhi?

(a) & (b): As per the Sample Registration System (SRS) report by Registrar General of India (RGI) for the last three years, Maternal Mortality Ratio (MMR) of India has reduced from 130 per 100,000 live births in SRS 2014-16 to 122 in SRS 2015-17 and to 113 per 100,000 live births in SRS 2016-18.
During the said period, the State/UT wise details of MMR given at Annexure-I.

(c): State/UT wise expenditure incurred during the last 3-year period, from FY 2017-18 to FY 2019-20 under NRHM-RCH flexible Pool including Delhi is given at Annexure-II.
