a) & b): The Indian Institute of Plantation Management (IIPM), Bangalore is an autonomous organization promoted by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India.The institute was established in the year 1993 with the sponsorship by plantation sector and Commodity Boards viz., Coffee Board, Tea Board, Rubber Board and Spices Board. IIPM has a Board of Governors which oversees the activities of the Institute. Government of India had given one time grant of Rs.5.00 crore to the Institute and no allocations on yearly basis are made to the Institute.It is expected to meet its expenses through course fee charged from the participants undergoing various programmes by the Institute. However, during 2007-08, a sum of Rs. 50.00 lakh was sanctioned for the Girls Hostel out of which Rs. 25.00 lakh was released during 2007-08 and a provision of Rs. 25.00 lakh has been made in 2008-09.
