(c) the number of recommendations accepted by the Government; and

MINISTER OF COMPANY AFFAIRS (SHRI PREM CHAND GUPTA)

(a) to (d) : The report submitted by the Expert Committee on Company Law headed by Dr. J.J. Irani covered a wide range of issues concerning companies including registration and incorporation, management and board governance, investor protection, access to capital, accounts and audit, mergers and acquisitions, investigation, offences & penalties and restructuring & liquidation etc. The recommendations of the Committee as also other inputs received by the Government are under consideration for preparation of a new Companies Bill for comprehensive revision of the Companies Act, 1956.
