Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS (SHRI MANOJ SINHA)

(a) No, Madam. Opening of a passenger halt at Mahavinayak near Chandikhole between Dhanmandal and Haridaspur stations has not been found operationally feasible.

(b) Yes, Madam.

(c) Maruru falls between Solur and Thippasandra Railway stations on Hasssan-Bangalore new Broad Gauge Line. The proposed track at this location is on a 15m high embankment. There is constraint for land on either side for forming side slopes of the embankment. It is technically not feasible to provide station at this location.

(d) 16517/16518 Bangalore-Kannur Express (daily) has been provided stoppage of Channapatna from 07.03.2014 on experimental basis.

(e) A large number of representations are received from different quarters of public representatives at various level of Railway administrations – at Railway station, Zonal Railway Division, Head Quarters and at Railway Board level, for provision of stoppage of trains at various stations including Surendranagar station, and action taken from time to time. However, Indian Railways do not maintain Compendium of such representations. At present, about 82 Mail/Express/Passenger trains are having stoppage at Surendranagar station.
