Question : NEW TELEPHONE EXCHANGES IN MAHARASHTRA



(a) the number of telephone exchanges functioning in Mahrashtra at present, district-wise;

(b) whether the Government propose to set up new telephone exchange in the State during 2001-2002;

(c) if so, the details thereof alongwith their capacity district-wise; and

(d) the time by which these exchanges are likely to be set up?

(a) The number of telephone exchanges functioning in Maharashtra at present, district-wise are given at Annexure - I.

(b) Yes, Sir.

(c) The details of new telephone exchanges along with their capacity proposed to be set up in the state during 2001-2002 district-wise is given in Annexure-II.

(d) All the new exchanges are likely to be commissioned by 31.03.2002.
