(a) the details of petrol pumps in the country, State-wise with special reference to Telangana;
(b) whether any assessment has been made to know the number of petrol pumps in the country, if so, the details thereof, State-wise;
(c) whether it is true that OMCs have decided to set up 65,000 petrol pumps in the country, if so, the details thereof; and
(d) whether focus would be made to set up petrol pumps in rural areas and if so, the details thereof?

(a) The details of State-wise number of Retail Outlets (ROs) of Public Sector Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) including in Telangana State as on 01.01.2020 are at Annexure.
(b) to (d) Expansion of ROs network by Public Sector OMCs in the country including in the Rural and Remote areas is a continuous process. ROs are set up by Public Sector OMCs at identified locations based on field survey and feasibility studies. Locations found to be having sufficient potential as well as economically viable are rostered in the Marketing Plans for advertisement for setting up ROs.
Public Sector OMCs have issued advertisements for award of new Retail Outlet dealerships on 25.11.2018 and 14.12.2018 on pan India basis including in rural areas. Status of these advertisements as on 01.01.2020 are as below :-
