Question : FIRING RANGES

(a) the total number of firing / shelling ranges operated by the defence forces all over the country, State / UT-wise including Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) along with the name of the place and physical dimensions of each;

(b) whether an environmental impact study of such practice ranges has been undertaken in view of their ecological sensitivity in States like J&K; and

(c) if so, the details thereof?

(a) The total number of Long Range, Field Firing Range and Air to Ground firing Ranges in the country operated by the defence forces are 81. It is not in the interest of national security to disclose other details.
