(a) whether the Western Railway has recently taken a decision to provide massages in running trains to the passengers;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the same decision was withdrawn by the Western Railway following stiff opposition from various quarters;
(d) if so, the facts and details thereof; and
(e) the details as to on whose authority the decision was taken and later on withdrawn?

(a) and (b) : To enhance non-fare revenue, Ratlam Division of Western Railway had initiated a proposal to introduce “head and foot massage” on 39 Mail Express originating from Indore.
(c) to (e) Due to concerns of possible passenger inconvenience in reserved compartments, soiling of linen, etc. the letter of allotment was terminated under clause No. 6 of Expression of Interest by the Competent Authority of Ratlam Division of Western Railway on 14.06.2019.
