Question : NATIONAL SECURITY FUND



(a) whether the Government have any proposal to create a National Security Fund for the socially disadvantaged sections of our society;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) if not, the reasons therefor;

(d) whether the Government have formulated any new schemes in the 10th Five Year Plan for the development of these sections; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (c) This Ministry is implementing a number of schemes for Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Classes, Minorities and other weaker sections of the society and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs is implementing such schemes for the tribals. No proposal as such is under consideration to create a separate National Security Fund.

(d) and (e) The Tenth Five Year Plan from April, 2002 has not been finalized.
