(a)As reported by States/ UTs, including Odisha, as on 14.09.2020, 79.16% rural habitations having 77.69% population have provision of minimum 40 litre per capita per day (lpcd) of potable drinking water and 17.69% rural habitations having 19.34% population have service level of less than 40 lpcd potable water, whereas 3.15% rural habitations having 2.97% population with water sources having quality issues. State/ UT-wise details are annexed.
(b) Government of India has released a sum of Rs. 22,386.2 Crore as financial assistance to States/ UTs in 2019-20 under Jal Jeevan Mission and in 2018-19 & 2017-18 under erstwhile National Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP).
Based on requirement, Govt. of India provides technical inputs to States/ UTs especially while approving the schemes by States.
(c) The approved criteria for allocation of fund under JJM is as under:

(d) There is a provision under JJM, in consonance with guidelines of Ministry of Finance dated 06.09.2016 on Flexi Fund for Centrally Sponsored Schemes, wherein upto 25% of the fund available with the States, can be set aside by States, including Odisha inter-alia, for undertaking mitigation/ restoration activities in case of natural calamities, including flood.
