Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF SURFACE TRANSPORT
( DR. DEBENDRA PRADHAN )
(a) & (b) Yes, Sir. There is congestion in the city portion of Hapur, Moradabad Bareilly and Lucknow. It is true that congestion leads to loss in terms of time and fuel. However, no specific study has been carried out on NH-24 by this Ministry to quantify the same in terms of money.
(c) & (d) Starting from Delhi , NH-24 is already having a dual carriageway in a length of 28 Kms . up to Ghaziabad . From Ghaziabad onwards to Hapur the work of 4laning in a length of 32 Kms. including the construction of a four lane Hapur bypass is in progress. From Garh Mukteshwar to Moradabad feasibility study for four laning is in progress. In the remaining length of about 385 Kms, feasibility study for 4 laning of NH-24 will be carried out depending upon the inter se priority of work and availability of funds. Bypass at Hapur and Moradabad are already under construction. The same at Shahjahanpur and Sitapur have already been completed. Bypasses are also proposed at Bareilly and Lucknow.
