Question : Admission in Various Courses under NEET

(a) the demands received from the States/ stakeholders to fill up various quota under OBC, EWS and others in NEET for admission to undergraduate medical courses, NEET-PG and other such courses;

(b) the details of admissions made for reserved categories and related action taken thereon till date, State/UT-wise; and

(c) if not, the reasons therefor and the relevant demands pending with the Government in this regard?

(a) to (c) The Government of India through Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) is the allotment authority entrusted by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India to conduct counseling for All India Quota (AIQ)/ Deemed/ Central Universities seats of Under Graduate courses (MBBS/ BDS) and Post Graduate (MD/ MS/ Diploma) courses as per the scheme devised by the Hon’ble Court. The Hon’ble Supreme Court has allowed reservation for OBC and EWS in the AIQ Scheme from the academic year 2020-21, which has been duly implemented in the counselling process. Remaining admissions are conducted by the States as per their extant provisions.
