Question : International Conference on AYUSH

Will the Minister of AYURVEDA, YOGA AND NATUROPATHY, UNANI, SIDDHA AND HOMOEOPATHY (AYUSH) be pleased to state:

(a) whether the Government has reviewed the first International Conference cum Exhibition on AYUSH and wellness recently organised in Delhi;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) the list of the countries participated in the event;

(d) the details of issues discussed with regard to development of AYUSH in the Conference along with the outcome thereof; and

(e) the resolution made in the conference?

(a) & (b): Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and Pharmexcil in collaboration with Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Ministry of AYUSH organized the International AROGYA 2017. This was the first Edition of International Exhibition and Conference on AYUSH and Wellness held on 4 -7 December, 2017 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi with the theme ‘Enhancing the export potential of AYUSH’. The event was attended by International Ayurveda Experts/ Academicians/ Scientists/ Regulators/ Manufacturers. The objective of the event was to sensitize Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha & Sowa- Rigpa and Homeopathy industry/ stakeholders at global level.
(c): Total 57 countries participated in the 1st International Exhibition & Conference on AYUSH & Wellness. The list of the countries is annexed.

(d) & (e): During the International Conference and Regulators Meet many important topics relating to Quality Raw Materials, Standardization of and Quality Control in AYUSH Sector, recognition of AYUSH therapies, promotion of classical formulation Enhancing the export potential of AYUSH and Business opportunities, Integrative Healthcare etc. were extensively deliberated to understand the International perspective. International AROGYA with the participation of AYUSH manufacturers showcased the strength of the AYUSH systems of medicine. Suggestions were made for building for AYUSH brand which could be taken to the world by incorporating modern system of research and subsequently educating people of the concept that Ayurveda could be way of life. Possible suggestions/ measures were provided to Indian AYUSH manufactures to enter into ASEAN and BIMSTEC countries.
