due for answer on 26.7.2002 regarding Japanese Aid for Projects.
(a), (b) & (c) No new commitment was made during 1999-2000 by
the Government of Japan due to economic sanctions imposed by them
in May, 1998. However, the Government of Japan extended a financial
assistance of Yen 18,926 million (Rs. 720 crores) and Yen 56,132
million (Rs 2040 crores) during the years 2000-2001 and 2001-2002
respectively. Details of the States, loans and utilisation of
ongoing Government of Japan assisted projects are as under:
