(a) to (c): In the interest of the consuming public, it did not seem necessary to retain
the five bulk drugs under licensing under the Industries (Development and Regulation) Act.
Accordingly, reservation of 5 bulk drugs for manufacture by the Public Sector only was
abolished vide Press Note No. 3 dated the 26th February, 1999 of the Department of Industrial
Policy and Promotion. The names of these five drugs are:
1. Vitamin Bl
2. Vitamin B2
3. Tetracycline
4. Oxytetracycline
5. Folic Acid
