(a) whether the State Government of Maharashra have sent any proposal to
the Union Government to include the Parit (Dhobi) caste in the list of
Scheduled Castes;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) the details of the decisions taken by the Union Government on the above
proposal?

(a)to(c) A proposal for inclusion of `Parit (Dhobi)` Community in the list of
Scheduled Castes of Maharashtra was processed as per approved
modalities and sent to Government of Maharashtra for comments.
Government of Maharashtra has not recommended the proposal as the
community does not fulfill the criteria for notifying a community as
Scheduled Caste. As such, no further action is deemed necessary on this
proposal.
