(a) & (b): Five new greenfield airports have been constructed and operationalized across the country. These airports are (i) Kazi Nazrul Islam Airport, Durgapur in West Bengal, (ii) Shirdi Airport in Maharashtra, (iii) Pakyong Airport in Sikkim, (iv) Kannur Airport in Kerala and (v) Kalaburagi (Gulbarga) Airport in Karnataka. International flights have started from Kannur Airport. During the Winter Schedule 2019, international flights have operated from Kannur airport to Abu Dhabi, Muscat, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Doha, Sharjah and Dubai.
