(b) whether the National Botanical Garden has prepared any list for preservation of the endangered species of plants;

(a) As per the survey conducted so far, it is estimated that there are about 17,500 species of flower plants in the country.

(b) No institution called `National Botanical Garden` functions under the control of this Ministry. However, Indian Botanic Garden at Howrah is under the control of the Botanical Survey of India. The Indian Botanic Garden has not prepared any list for the preservation of the endangered species of plants.
