Will the Minister of COMMUNICATIONS be pleased to state: whether any specific efforts are being made by the Government to provide satellite based Internet of Things(IoT) network connectivity through BSNL to enhance the Narrow Band-Internet of Things(NB-IoT) network in the country and if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

Sir, As per current regulatory framework, the licensed Telecom Service Providers can render various telecommunication services including satellite-based Internet of Things (IoT) service based on their techno-commercial considerations and scope of license obtained by them.
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) does offer Narrow Band-Internet of Things (NB-IoT) network connectivity in the country. As on 22nd July, 2021, BSNL has provided 385 NB-IoT connections.
