Question : PARAMEDICAL TRAINING TO DELHI TRAFFIC POLICE COPS



(a) the details of paramedical training given to Delhi Traffic Police cops recently to equip them with first Aid for providing to the accident victims;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) the details of accidental deaths are taking place daily in Delhi due to non-availability of first-aid;

(d) whether the Government are aware that in most of the Gypsies, medicines and bandages are either not available or not utilised;

(e) if so, the reasons therefor; and

(f) the reaction of the Government thereto ?

(a) & (b): With a view to train the Police Personnel in the basics of providing first aid to the accident victims, preliminary Para Medical Training was organised on three days in July, 2001 in which 166 Police Personnel of different ranks were trained.

(c) to (f): Apart from its primary duty of maintenance of law and order, the Police Control Room vehicles of Delhi Police provide assistance to the accident victims by rushing them to the nearest hospitals. These PCR vans are also provided with well equipped first-aid-boxes which are used by the staff depending on the nature of injuries sustained by the victims.
