Question : POPULARISATION OF NCES



(a) whether the Government have a well thought plan to develop popularity for use of non-conventional energy.

(b) the extent to which the Government sought public cooperation and participation;

(c) the methods being used to create better awareness amongst the public;

(d) whether NGOs are being used to help enter into public activities in this field; and

(e) if so, the kind of cooperation being done with NGOs in making non-conventional energy popular?

(a): Yes, Sir. The Ministry is implementing various schemes to develop popularity for use of non-conventional energy in the country.

(b)&(c): Public cooperation and participation is sought through organization of exhibitions, trade fairs, competitions, seminars, etc. Electronic, print, exhibitions and outdoor media involving Radio programmes, advertisements in newspapers, publicity materials, mobile exhibition vans, hoardings/kiosks/bus back panels, song & drama, etc. are used to create better awareness amongst the public. Besides, Energy Parks for demonstrating use of various non-conventional energy systems & devices, business meets, conferences & seminars are also supported.

(d)&( e): NGOs are involved in implementation, training and publicity of the non-conventional energy systems & devices. Financial support for these activities is provided to the NGOs.
