THE MINISTER OF TOURISM AND CULTURE (SMT. AMBIKA SONI)
(a) and (b): The development and promotion of tourism is primarily undertaken by the State
Governments/Union Territory Administrations themselves. However, the Ministry of Tourism
provides funds on the basis of project proposals received for grant of central financial assistance every
year under the following schemes:
(i) Product/Infrastructure development of tourist destinations/circuits
(ii) Large Revenue Generating projects
(iii) Information Technology
(iv) Fairs/festivals/events
The list of projects received as per scheme guidelines, which were appraised on inter-se-
priority and sanctioned during the last three years is given in the Annexure attached.
(c) and (d): Out of the 15 project proposals received from the Government of Andhra Pradesh, the
following which were complete as per guidelines were sanctioned by the Ministry of Tourism during
the year 2007-08:
