(a) whether the Government has made any assessment regarding demand and supply of milk in North Eastern States of the country including Assam;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) the names of the schemes being implemented by the Union Government to promote dairy farming in North Eastern States including Assam?

(a) Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying has not made any assessment regarding demand and supply of milk in North Eastern States of the country including Assam. However, a study on current and future demand of milk and milk products in the country including North Eastern States has been commissioned by National Dairy Development Board under National Dairy Plan- I. The major findings of this study are expected to be available by November 2019.
(b) Does not arise in view of reply at (a).
(c) The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying is implementing “Dairy Entrepreneurship Development Scheme” to promote dairy farming in North Eastern States including Assam.
