Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS
(SHRI RAJEN GOHAIN)

(a): A parallel broad gauge line was laid in Tiruchchirappalli-Thanjavur section in 1997. At that time, the two level crossings No. 313 & 313A near Solagampatti station continued to exist. Later on, these two level crossings were closed, completing necessary formalities. Presently, doubling of this section has been taken up by converting the existing meter gauge line to broad gauge.
(b) & (c): There is no proposal to construct Road Over Bridge(ROB) at Solagampatti. Construction of ROB(s) is taken up on deposit term provided the State Government agrees to bear the entire cost of construction and maintenance of the same.
