(a) the current status of the action taken on survey report of new railway line projects connecting Gwalior district of Madhya Pradesh;
(b) the time limit fixed for completing the said project; and
(c) the steps taken/being taken by the Railways to expedite the construction work of the said projects?

(a) to (c): In last three years a survey for new line between Gwalior-Shahjahanpur via Fatehabad, Katana, Rajpur, Jalalabad (334 km) has been carried out. The cost has been assessed at 1894 Crores at 2015 price level with a negative Rate of Return of 23.13%. In view of its unremunerative nature and huge throwforward of projects the same could not be taken forward.
