(a) whether the Government have assessed the requirement of additional power
projects/plants for each State to meet their growing demand of power;
(b) if so, the number of power plants proposed to be set up in each State during the
next three years;
(c) the places identified for location of new power plants/projects, State-wise
especially in Rajasthan; and
(d) the total amount of investment proposed to be made available to each State/NTPC
for such new projects?
THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF POWER ( SHRIMATI JAYAWANTI MEHTA )
(a) to (d) : The Working Group on Power for 10th Plan has assessed a feasible
capacity of 46939 MW during 10th Plan. A statement giving details of power projects to
be set up during 10th Plan, year-wise, is annexed.
The Working Group on Power for 10th Plan has assessed a total fund
requirement of Rs.5,66,273 crore for the central sector and state sector, of which
generation schemes account for Rs.3,23,533 crore.
