Question : Pending Cases

(a) whether large number of cases are pending with the courts of law regarding the cadre allotment of the civil servants in the country;
(b) whether the Government tried to streamline the process and chaos, if any, in the cadre management of civil servants; and
(c) whether there is any proposal to increase or decrease the tenure period of the civil servants to their home States from the existing tenure and if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (c): The Cadre Allocation to the All India Services (AIS) Officers is done by the respective Cadre Controlling Authorities (CCAs) namely, Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) in respect of Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Ministry of Home Affairs in respect of Indian Police Service (IPS) and Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change in respect of Indian Forest Service (IFoS); in accordance with the Cadre Allocation Policy (CAP) issued vide DoPT’s Office Memorandum No. 13013/2/2016-AIS-I dated 05.09.2017. The cases filed by AIS officers from time to time regarding cadre allotment before the Courts of Law/Tribunals are dealt by the respective CCA. Cadre management is regulated by the respective AIS Cadre Rules.
