Question : REVIVAL OF STEEL INDUSTRY

(a) whether the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) have suggested a five point programme to the Government for the revival of the steel industry viz reduction in project financing and working capital funds, timely availability of raw material, concessional tariff at non peak hours, consumption of power etc.; and

(b) if so, the reaction of the Government thereto?

(a)&(b): Yes, Sir. A proposal from the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) has been received and at present the matter is under the consideration of the Government.
