Question : Class Ten English Exam

(a) whether the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has expressed regret for including a misogynistic comprehension exercise in its Class 10 English examination, and vowed to review its paper setting processes; and
(b) whether the Government proposes to drop such question/s and all students granted full marks for that section as one of the question paper contained a passage which blame a “feminist revolt” for teenage indiscipline and if so the details thereof and corrective steps/measures being taken in this regard?

(a) and (b): It came to the notice of Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE) that a passage in the question paper of English (Language & Literature) of Class-X was not in accordance with the guidelines of setting question papers. Accordingly, the passage was dropped from the question paper and to maintain uniformity it was decided that full marks will be awarded to all the students for this question to all sets of question papers.
