(a) to (c) Yes Sir. The Government of India has set up National Culture Fund (NCF) as a Trust under the Charitable Endowment Act, 1890 through a Gazette Notification published in the Gazette of India 28th November, 1996. The Fund enables institutions and individuals to support arts and culture directly as partners with its government and serves as a funding mechanism distinct from the existing sources and patterns of funding for the arts and culture in India. All contributions to NCF are given 100% tax exemption under Section 80 G (2) of the Income Tax Act of 1961. So far, NCF has completed 41 sponsored projects and 27 are ongoing. Details of the completed and ongoing projects are attached as Annexure-I.
(d) Yes Sir, the Council of NCF has a maximum strength of 24 members, with a maximum of 19 eminent members representing the corporate sector, public sector, private foundations and NGOs. The Hon’ble Minister for Culture is the Chairperson of the Council. The current composition of the Council was constituted vide notification dated 26.09.2018 for a tenure of 3 years.

(f) NCF receives guidance from Governing Council and the Executive Committee for its effective functioning.
