(a) whether the Government is aware of the corruption and mismanagement in the Employees Provident Fund as reported in Business Standard dated December 13, 2004;
(a) if so, the facts thereof; and
(b) the action taken/being taken by the Government in this regard?

(a) to (c): As and when any fraud, financial irregularity or any matter relating to demand and acceptance of illegal gratification on the part of any employee of Employees Provident Fund Organisation is noticed, necessary corrective measures to avoid recurrence of the same, and also, penal action as required under the rules is duly taken.
