Question : PCOS IN U.P.

(a) the norms being adopted for the allotment of PCOs;

(b) the number of PCOs functioning at present in Uttar Pradesh;

(c) whether the Government have fixed any target for the allotment of PCO`s in Uttar Pradesh during 1999-2000 and 2000-2001;

(d) if so, the details thereof; and

(e) the steps taken by the Government to achieve the target?

(a) Sir, PCOs are allotted to all the eligible persons on `first come, first served` basis as per their registration.

(b) 69542 PCOs are functioning in Uttar Pradesh (including Uttaranchal State) as on 31.10.2000.

(c) & (d): Yes, Sir. The targets fixed for Uttar Pradesh (including Uttaranchal State) are given below:-
