Question : POST OFFICES IN DELHI AND OSMANABAD



(a) the number of small and big post offices functioning in Delhi and Osmanabad district;

(b) the number of postal employees working therein alongwith the number of Post Masters and Deputy Post Masters therein;

(c) since when they are in their current posts; and

(d) the transfer policy adopted by the Government to facilitate rotation in postings?

(a) The number of post offices under various categories in Delhi and Osmanabad district are given below:-

DELHI OSMANABAD DISTRICT	Head post offices:	12	1	Sub post offices:	414	29	Gramin Dak Sevak Sub post offices:	19	-	Gramin Dak Sevak branch post offices:	134	252


(b) & (c) There are 6897 postal employees working in Delhi, which includes 18 Postmasters and 47 Deputy Postmasters. The Postmasters and Deputy Postmasters are all working in their present assignments for less than four years. There are 121 postal employees working in Osmanabad District, which includes 1 Postmaster and 1 Deputy Postmaster. Both the Postmaster and Deputy Postmaster are working in their posts from 14.4.2005.

(d) Postal employees are generally transferred after completion of four years in an office/post, on annual transfer of the employees, except in the cases of postmen and Group `D` officials, who are non transferable.
