Question : PMS for OBC students

(a) whether Post Matric Scholarship (PMS) scheme is being implemented for Other Backward Classes (OBC) students in various States of the country;

(b) if so, the details of funds allocated to various States including Bihar during each of the last three years and the current year along with the amount of funds released and utilized, State-wise;

(c) whether the funds allocated by the Government under the said scheme has not been fully utilised, if so, the details and reasons therefor, State-wise; and

(d) the remedial steps taken in this regard?

(a) Yes.
(b) to (d): The details of funds allocated, released and utilized by the State Govt./UTs during the last three years and current year are at Annexure-I. Certain States do not utilize fully the funds release to them because of lack of enough OBC beneficiaries or late utilization of fund by the Districts. The un-utilised amount is adjusted against the subsequent release to the States/UTs.
