(a) whether the Krishak Bharati Cooperative Limited (KRIBHCO) has signed a joint venture
project with Oman Oil Company;
(b) if so, the details and the salient features thereof;
(c) the extent to which the KRIBHCO is likely to be benefited; and
(d) the time by which the said project is likely to be operational?
THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF CHEMICALS & FERTILIZERS AND MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF PARLIAMENTARY AFFAIRS(SHRI B.K. HANDIQUE)
(a) to (d) M/s. Krishak Bharati Cooperative Ltd. (KRIBHCO) and Oman Oil Company (OOC) of Oman
have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 14th December, 2007. The MOU envisages
cooperation between KRIBHCO and OOC in the broad sphere of industrial sector including fertilizer
sector, energy sector, refining & petrochemical sector, power sector etc. The extent of benefit
to KRIBHCO from the proposed MOU will depend on the future discussions and cooperation between
the two companies as envisaged under the MOU.
