Question : Proposals for NPP from Madhya Pradesh

(a) whether the Government has received any proposal from the Government of Madhya Pradesh with regard to setting up of nuclear power station in the State;

(b) if so, the details thereof and the time by when the said proposal would be approved; and

(c) the reasons for not according priority to it despite severe shortage of power in Madhya Pradesh?

(a)&(b)Presently, there are no proposals from the Government of Madhya Pradesh for setting up nuclear power projects in the State. However, in the past, the State Government had offered two sites, at Chutka in Mandla district and Bhimpur in Shivpuri district, both of which are accorded approval by the Government.


(c) Does not arise.
