Question : Youth Hostels

(a) the details of youth hostels set up/functioning in various parts of the country, location-wise;

(b) the details of youth hostels constructed and the funds allocated/released/utilized for the purpose during each of the last three years and the current year, location-wise;

(c) the number of youth hostels proposed to be constructed in various parts of the country during the current five year plan and the steps being taken by the Government in this regard, location-wise;

(d) whether the Government proposes to formulate any special scheme for the youth that will help them to choose their career according to their choices; and

(e) if so, the details thereof and if not, the steps being taken in this regard?

(a) Eighty Three (83) Youth Hostels have so far been constructed in the country and one more Youth Hostel is under advanced stage of construction.

A statement showing list of Youth Hostels, Location-wise is annexed.

(b) & (c) No new youth hostel has been constructed in the country during the last three years and the current year and there is no proposal for construction of any new youth hostel during the current five year plan.

(d) & (e) The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports has no proposal to formulate any special scheme for the youth that will help them to choose their career according to their choices.
